Frequesnty Asked Questions

What can I expect to happen when I arrive at the CRIB?

One of us will meet you in the car park outside of the CRIB. You will be greeted and offered a drink and made to feel welcome. You will be with your baby all the time. During the study your child will either sit on your lap or in a car seat. Some of our tasks involve watching a few short clips on a television screen or live action; others involve playing with interesting toys. The children who visit the CRIB always have fun.

Can I bring my other children along?

There is a comfortable waiting area with toys and books, so you can bring your other children and our experienced receptionist will be happy to keep an eye on them. If you prefer, your child can watch the study with you.

How do I get to Brunel University?

A door-to-door black taxi service is provided free of charge for you and your child if you live within 5 miles of Brunel University in Uxbridge. If you live further away, we can arrange for a taxi to collect you from Uxbridge tube station. Otherwise we will refund your travel expenses.

If you wish to drive to Brunel, we have parking spaces in front of our building. Someone from the lab will meet you outside with the parking permit, and escort you into the building.
