I am a Chartered Psychologist and Registered Health Psychologist (HPC). I joined Brunel University in 2006 after 10 years at the Medical School at UCL. I have wide-ranging interests in health psychology and have over 150 research publications, many of them in peer-reviewed journals. I have presented my research at over 60 international conferences and have received funding from a variety of sources including Medical Research Council, British Academy, Cancer Research UK. From 1996-2006 I was Course Director of a BPS accredited M.Sc in Health Psychology (UCL/Kings).
I now co-direct an MSc in Psychology, Health and Behaviour at Brunel University, which trains health professionals and others to undertake good-quality health research. I have successfully supervised over 80 M.Sc/PhDs. Before training as a psychologist I qualified as a pharmacist and I continue to be a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society.
