I was initially attracted to Brunel because of the campus and lifestyle that the students had. The campus has almost everything available to its students; even the halls of residence are on site. My course has always had a good reputation, and the relationship between staff and students has always been very positive.
My study experience at Brunel has been more than amazing. The support received was absolutely incredible; whenever help was needed it was always given. From dropping a quick email to meet for a one on one session, or even meeting with the lecturers in groups, they have always been there to provide a helping hand. They were particularly supportive when additional revision lectures were required, putting sessions on without any hesitance.
I have used the Professional Development Centre (PDC) continuously from my first year at university as there are such fantastic services available. Initially, I used the service to create a more current and up-to-date CV. Having done that in my second year, I used the service to help secure a placement at GlaxoSmithKline. My role was working within the Research and Development IT team, as a Learning Services and Support Analyst. By undertaking a placement I was able to gain life-long skills from working in a corporate company, and have been able to bring this knowledge back with me into my final year at University.
Having taken all of the invaluable information from my placement with GSK, I have been lucky enough to secure a role with the Bank of England Graduate Scheme for 3 years.
Business Computing has endless opportunities; the career prospects are amazing and there are so many places your degree can take you. As for Brunel, it is an umbrella of opportunities with so much stuff to do, complete and get involved in.
