Felicity Clarke

My final physiotherapy placement was at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, on a neurology ward. The placement gave me the opportunity to develop my assessment and treatment skills for neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinsons Disease, on top of rehabilitation for acute stroke patients who had been transferred to Chelsea and Westminster from London HASU’s. I thoroughly enjoyed the placement because of the range of experience I gained and it was such a friendly environment to work in. Although physiotherapy placements are challenging, Brunel University fully prepares us as students, which makes the placements so worthwhile and stand you in good stead for working as a Junior Physiotherapist.

I have been successful in getting a rotational Band 5 job at Southend University Hospital which I start in September. There is no doubt that I would not be in the same position if it had not been for the teaching and preparation delivered by the fantastic lecturers at Brunel, who support us fully through the degree.
