I graduated from Brunel in 2013 and I was lucky enough to
find a rotational job straight away. I remained for 16 months in my first post
at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust where I was able to complete my
general rotations and consolidate and develop my clinical skills. I then took up a post at Papworth Hospital in
Cambridge in order to focus on respiratory and cardiac physiotherapy. Papworth is one of the largest
specialist cardiothoracic hospitals in Europe and includes the UKs main heart
and lung transplant centre. After 6 months at Papworth I became a rotationalband 6 physiotherapist in critical care and thoracic surgery. Ultimately I’d love to continue studying
whilst working and complete an advanced respiratory care Masters.
I look back at my time at Brunel and remember how close we
were as a cohort. I believe the structure and teaching methods of the course
had a big part to play in this.
Since qualifying the quality of teaching I received at
Brunel has become all the more apparent, I feel all the lecturers really
prepared us for clinical work and always went the extra mile.
