I chose to study at Brunel because I liked the modules which are both theoretical and practical. My dissertation project is about the complement system and Alzheimer’s disease in mice. It was found that C1q, a protein of the immune system, is upregulated in both humans and mice affected by Alzheimer’s and I am trying to understand the interaction of this protein with the disease. In my year spent at Brunel, I enjoyed the environment, the people and the close proximity to London. I was involved in a volunteer project with children and the experience was so helpful for my English. I also worked during graduation week as parking steward.

Next, I hope to apply for a PhD position. I recommend Brunel University - you will work hard but will also have a lot of fun!
