2006    PhD (London South Bank University). Thesis entitled “Porous Silicon Capped with Organic Conductors for the Production of Light Emitting Devices”.

1992    MSc (London South Bank University) in Information Systems Engineering with Specialisation in Data Communications. The main project consisted in the development of transmitting and receiving a signal through the mains electrical power supply.

1991    Post Graduate Diploma (London South Bank University) in Information Systems Engineering.

1988    BEng (North East London Polytechnic) in Mechanical Engineering consisting in 4 years sandwich course.

1969    BSc in Agricultural Engineering at University of Chile-Temuco-Chile Mains project entitled: “The Industrialisation of Milk at the Processing Plant” at Pitrufquén-Chile named Lechera del Sur S.A.  Published in Spanish as [“La Industrialización de la Leche en la Lechera del Sur S.A. : (Planta Pitrufquén)” : Seminario. 2000-2008       Senior Materials Engineer, OLED-T Limited. (spin out company of London South Bank University, specialising in vacuum-sublimable materials for OLEDs and lighting).

1993-2000       Research Fellow, London South Bank University:

Project Funded by Kyocera (UK)

¨      Production of high frequency Ta2O5 capacitors by coating with conducting polymers [polypyrrole and polyaniline].

Project Funded by ITW, Dallas (USA)

¨      Develop novel antistatic coating and formulation of copolymer namely POTOE. Coating on extruded tube used for the packaging and transport of memory chip (See Patent Serial No 08/989977). 

Project Funded by New Metals and Chemicals (part of EU program)

¨      Electrical characterisation of metallised (nickel, copper) viscose fibres for electromagnetic shielding.

Ph D Work part funded by Nissan Chemicals (Japan) & DERA (UK)

¨      Electrochemically produce porous silicon for photoluminescent and electroluminescent studies.

¨      Fabrication of porous silicon devices capped with conducting materials (Rare earth, poly(aniline)(s), polypyrrole, charge transfer complexes and thiophenes).
