Paris 2003 IAAF World Athletics Championships

I rode my bike from London down through Canterbury to Dover.
I caught a ferry across to Calais, then rode down to Boulogne-sur-Mer.
Here is a view of the white cliffs of Dover from the ferry.

I caught a train from Boulogne to Paris.

I was staying in a backpackers in north east Paris and rode to the track (Stade de France) every day.
Riding was quicker than catching the Metro.

Svetlana Feofanova (RUS) won with 4.75 m, Annika Becker (GER) was second with 4.70 m, and Yelena Isinbayeva (RUS) was third with 4.65 m.

Dmitry was the reigning champion from Edmonton 2001 (with 6.05 m).
In Paris he finished fourth with 5.85 m.
The other finalists are (L-R): Adam Kolasa (POL), Derek Miles (USA), Okkert Brits (RSA), Vadim Strogalev (RUS), Tim Mack (USA), Patrik Kristiansson (SWE), Denys Yurchenko (UKR), Viktor Chistiakov (AUS), Daichi Sawano (JAP), Tim Lobinger (GER), and Giuseppe Gibilisco (ITA).

Guiseppe Gibilisco (ITA) won with a PB performance of 5.90 m, Okkert Brits (RSA) was second with 5.85 m, and Patrik Kristiansson (SWE) was third with 5.85 m.

I spent a day riding around central Paris. This is me near the Eiffel tower.

I took the lift to the top then walked back down the stairs.
