Lung function and level of hydration - Hannah Marshall, MSc, BSc (Hons)
What is the project about:
This study is being conducted to investigate the effect of hydration on lung function. The study involves 4 experimental conditions where you will undertake each of the 2 dehydration protocols twice. The first method of dehydration will involve an exercise trial in hot conditions, and the second will involve a prolonged period of water restriction (28 hours). You will undergo lung function tests to see whether/ how your lungs have been affected in each condition.
In order to take part you must:
- Be 18-40 years old
- Have no history of respiratory disease (including asthma, COPD, cystic fibrosis)
- Be a non-smoker.
