Recordings of our Covid-19 briefings can be found below. If you have any questions that aren't answered on our Brunel in 2021 pages and our list of FAQs, please send them to communications@brunel.ac.uk and we will try to answer them.

Vice-Chancellor and President Professor Julia Buckingham CBE shared the latest information on our Covid-19 testing site, the services that will be available on campus over the Christmas break and plans for managing students’ return to campus in the new year.  

Mike Keighley shared the latest news on new asymptomatic testing centre and how we are supporting students' return home for Christmas and Andrew Murphy confirmed the Tier 2 restrictions on campus.

Prof Rebecca Lingwood spoke about how we are helping our students return home for the holidays and Andrew Murphy talked about catering available to students who are self-isolating in halls on campus and our plans to offer asymptomatic testing on campus for students. FinallyProf Bill Leahy shared an update on last week's Covid-19 support session for students, which focused on plans for Christmas.

 At this VC address, Professor Julia Buckingham CBE spoke about the latest updates to the sector, what the lockdown measures mean for Brunel and the support in place for staff and students.

Andrew Murphy gave the latest update on buildings reopening on campus, the new health and safety signage installed and an update on wifi in halls. Bill also shared wellbeing information on free online exercise classes from Brunel Gym and free Friday yoga from Raj Patel following your requests last week.

Derek Healy shared more detail about the latest alert level and related restrictions, and gave an update on the new Covid-19 test centre at Topping Lane and how it will be used.

 Chief Financial Officer Andrew Murphy shared details of the number of Covid-19 cases on campus including the process for staff and students to report symptoms or a positive result. Plus,  Vice-Provost (Education) Prof Mariann Rand-Weaver gave an update on online and on-campus teaching, and Gemma Bailey, HR Director, talked about staff wellbeing and our new Rewards portal.

Gemma Bailey introduced our new flexible policies around annual leave and career breaks as well as answered your questions on continued homeworking or return to campus in line with recent updates to government guidance and Pekka Kahkipuro answered some of your frequently asked questions about our technology tools and resources.

Human Resources Director, Gemma Bailey, shared our new Homeworking policy and explained what it covers and what it means for you, as well as the guidance to help line managers.

Director of Strategic Projects and Change, Bridget Boylan, talked about the work to prepare buildings including reception areas, toilets and lecture rooms to reopen safely in September and how that is being shared with managers and custodians.
