Programme Specifications Portal
We publish a ‘programme specification’ for every award-bearing taught programme we offer. These constitute the definitive record of what each programme and qualification comprises, including: the module, study and/or assessment blocks offered; the programme's aims; the learning outcomes; and details about the intended requirements for successful completion. Programme specifications are primarily used in the University’s quality assurance processes, but the definitive information they contain is of value to current and prospective students.
Each programme specification applies to a specific year of entry and the latest available version is published on this website. Earlier versions are available to registered students via IntraBrunel or by special request from quality-officers@brunel.ac.uk.
Changes to programme specifications may be made and are subject to a rigorous modification process. Students will be kept informed of any proposed or agreed substantive changes that will affect aspects of the programme that the student has yet to complete.
Individual modules, study and/or assessment blocks have outlines that define indicative content and structure, intended learning outcomes and assessment schemes. These may also be adjusted from year to year through formal approval processes.
Please note that references to ‘levels’ in the programme specifications currently relate to the way in which the University has self-defined its own internal ‘levels’ and is based on this mapping. From 2019/20 onwards, references to levels will only relate to FHEQ levels.
