Marija Butkovic​ is digital marketing and business consultant who has worked across a range of projects in different industry sectors, including legal, journalism, tech, IoT, wearable tech and fashion tech. 

She is a co-founder of ​Kisha Smart Umbrella​ - a wearable tech startup behind the world's smartest fashion tech umbrella, and ​Women of Wearables​ - UK’s and Europe’s first organisation aiming to support, connect and mentor women in wearable tech, fashion tech, IoT and VR/AR. 

She regularly writes and blogs on topics of wearable tech, diversity and entrepreneurship.

She has been featured in major tech and business publications such as TechCrunch, Management Today, Huffington Post and Wareable magazine and regularly appears as a public speaker and panelist on conferences, meetups and corporate events.

Marija was selected as one of the Most Influential Women in UK tech: The 2017 longlist by Computer Weekly.


Marija is member of ​Tech London Advocates​ - an organisation aiming to support technology startups in finding new investment, new talent and achieving high growth and ​Women Techmakers​ - Google’s global program providing visibility, community and resources for women in technology. 

She currently collaborates with startup accelerators and incubators in London and worldwide on delivering help as a startup mentor and advisor. ​She is also a STEM ambassador. 

Prior to working in the tech industry, Marija was a corporate lawyer and consultant for legal trade journals. She holds a Master of Laws degree from Faculty of Law, University of Rijeka, Croatia, and was also awarded a diploma from the ​Startup Institute​ in London.

John is a Fellow of the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing (FIDM) and has particular expertise and experience in advising companies on how to develop and deploy their brand and marketing strategies. He has a specialist interest in Intellectual Property and Brand Management strategy. He is particularly interested in business management and culture change and how brand integrates into, and drives, value and profitability.

A regular speaker on Brand Protection, Intellectual Property Strategy and Business Innovation. He is a key presenter for the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA) and to the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) the Business In Oxford conferences, the Naidex Conference, The Holiday Park Innovation Conference and the Elite Sports Performance Conferences.

He is a business mentor for executives and teams at all levels – from student start ups to global players.

John is a 7th Dan Black Belt in Karate which certainly supports his mentoring and coaching skills in challenging scenarios.

Juliana Saldanha is responsible for iOasys UK. They are app makers! Her experience includes co-founding a start-up, creating entrepreneurial programs and founding an accelerator for start-ups in Brazil.

At iOasys, she is responsible for the company expansion into the UK through operations and new business development. Her role is to understand the market, to set up the operations mode, to prospect new clients and follow the current projects from the beginning to the end in order to keep all the parts involved connected and satisfied. While establishing good partnerships and to contribute to the tech community either as a connector, mentor or speaker.


"I know how to help new projects and people to achieve results, making them more engaging and credible, through communication, brand management and relationship with stakeholders.

I started my career working in an incubator in the University. There I created programs to stimulate an entrepreneurial mindset between students and researchers. In 2014, I co-founded an accelerator for startups in Belo Horizonte, which I ran for 2 and half years. In the meantime, I also had a startup. In 2016, I was invited by iOasys to explore London tech scene and expand the company to Europe.

I am a Personal Branding strategist and speaker. Skills that I developed based on my own needs and now I can share what I have learnt so far."

Jessica Dick - Co-founder

Jess manages a portfolio of investments of around 25 startups in the field of cleantech, social impact, healthtech, edtech, B2B and B2C software. She has worked directly with the startups as an advisor, board observer, and on a project basis - in investment readiness and fundraising, branding exercises, business planning and strategy. Jess also mentors entrepreneurs outside of her investment portfolio, with Google Launchpad, Entrepreneurial Spark, Bethnal Green Ventures, Hatch Enterprise and other similar organisations.

Nat is also a mentor and business coach and loves supporting purpose driven founders.

Frontline is an early stage venture capital firm, investing in the most ambitious B2B technology founders in Europe. They support founders through their platform events, content and the peer to peer learning across their portfolio. They have offices in London and Dublin.

William McQuillan is a Partner at Frontline Ventures, Frontline is an early stage venture capital fund with €110m under management. He was the youngest Partner of a European VC fund when Frontline was founded.

After leaving university, William was one of the founding employees of Ondra Partners, a start-up investment-banking boutique. Ondra grew from a four-person team, to have over 70 people in London, New York and Paris, and within 18 months was named top investment banking boutique globally by Euromoney. This experience made him realise his passion for rethinking an industry and led him to Co-Found Osmoda, a fashion e-commerce company creating a new way for young, up and coming designers to sell online. At the same time he was  a Global Ambassador for the Sandbox Network, a community of over a thousand innovators under 30. It was through Osmoda and Sandbox that he saw the difficulties for great founders fundraising in Europe. This inspired him to join Will Prendergast and Shay Garvey to set up Frontline, a fund that would improve early stage venture capital in Europe and enable him to support these entrepreneurs.

William is also a keen adventure traveller, and when taking time off is as likely to be seen running a triple marathon across Northern Spain, hiking through Colombian rain forest, or white-water rafting down a Himalayan river.

James P. Peel has worked in patents since 1991. Prior to setting up J. P. Peel & Co Ltd, James Peel was head of patents and the managing partner of the London office of a national IP firm. The office was based in Barnes in south west London.

James has also worked as an in-house patent attorney in Sweden for a global pharmaceutical company and in East Yorkshire for a fast moving consumer goods company. This experience of giving intellectual property advice to businesses with such diverse commercial strategies has given James an excellent basis for helping businesses find the right intellectual property strategy for them.

James has considerable experience of obtaining patent protection at the European Patent Office (EPO), UK IP Office and overseas. At the EPO, he also has experience of successfully representing his clients at hearings before the Examining, Opposition and Appeal Divisions. Overseas jurisdictions where he has experience of obtaining patent, utility model (where applicable) and design protection include the USA, China, India, Australia, Canada, Chile, New Zealand, Israel, South Africa and Russia. He has a network of trusted attorneys in those countries with whom he has experience of working.

James is a contributor to the Eighth Edition of the CIPA Guide to the Patents Act 2016. He is a regular volunteer at the IP evening clinics run by the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys on behalf of the UK Intellectual Property Office.

Clients and technologies James has worked with a wide range of clients from multinational businesses in the chemical, pharmaceutical and mining fields to start-up companies with consumer/domestic products, medical device and chemical products. He has also worked with university and NHS technology transfer departments and overseas attorneys.
