Education work placements
All of our education courses at Brunel offer the opportunity for work placements or school experience that will boost your CV and give you a head start when looking for graduate roles.
One of the great things about our placements is how flexible your experience can be depending on your circumstances and goals. If you’re considering our undergraduate course in education, you’ll take three integrated work placements which give you the opportunity to explore your options in wide variety of education related fields. Better yet, you’ll have the option to take this as a weekly placement or in a block over the holidays. Whatever suits you, you’ll be fully supported by a mentor, your personal tutor and our Professional Development Centre.
To support the placement learning experiences in each year of the programme, we utilise a well-established network of schools and other educational settings across west and central London as well as the surrounding boroughs and home counties. Studying in London means you will benefit from an established partnership between Brunel and a variety of educational institutions and local schools. We offer multicultural placement learning opportunities and our diverse schools network means you will gain highly-valued placement learning experiences in vibrant multicultural schools that reflect the make-up of the area.
You’ll be exposed to opportunities that extend well beyond traditional mainstream schools, allowing you to gain experience in a range of different settings. These include recent opportunities offered in museums; charities; the floating classroom of Groundworks; young offender institutions; Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) and special schools. Not only does this give you a wide range of experience, it also helps you to build a strong network for your future, as many of our students are employed where they undertook a placement and others go on to work in our partner schools.
