Careers and your future in English
The study discipline, research skills and ability to shape large amounts of information into engaging arguments make our English graduates very attractive to future employers.
80% of our graduates are in work or further study six months after graduation.
Right from the outset we will help you to develop career options based on interests and skills: each year every student is required to participate in personal development and employability events tailored especially for English students.
All students can opt to take a four-year placement course, which includes a year-long placement in an industry of your choice. Alternatively, you can take one of the final year employability modules on offer to all English students.
After graduation, Brunel graduates of English go into a variety of professions. Some go into teaching or media-related industries like advertising, marketing and journalism, but our students fit just as easily into many other career environments.
Developed literary skills prepare our graduates for work as copywriters, report writers, copy editors and publishers. Others go into the business world as account executives, campaign organisers and consultants.
