Our Networks

Yerun · Young European Research Universities Network

The founding goals of the Yerun Network are to strengthen and develop cooperation in the areas of research, academic education and service to society among a cluster of highly-ranked, young research universities in Europe on an equal basis and for their common benefit.

Our TNE Partners

North China University of Technology (NCUT), Beijing, China

NCUT's campus, based in the west part of the Beijing urban area, covers more than 34 hectares and has won awards as one of the most beautiful universities in Beijing. NCUT is a multidisciplinary university funded by the municipal government, with engineering as its strongest subject. Working in partnership with NCUT in Beijing – China's centre for international exchange and for scientific and technological innovation – will provide Brunel with opportunities for research collaboration, student exchange between the universities, staff development, and links with local government and industry.

The joint college – named Brunel London School, North China University of Technology – was given official approval by China’s Ministry of Education as a transnational education (TNE) college in 2019. The students are recruited through National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao) and will work towards degrees awarded jointly by both universities.

The college offers three degree programmes:

  • Data Science and Big Data Technology
  • Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation
  • Civil Engineering

Since the college was established in 2020, nearly 300 students have been recruited and are currently studying at NCUT

Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT), Chongqing, China

CQUPT is a high-quality institution that plays significant role in the information industry with engineering and computer science ranking top 1% of ESI. CQUPT hosts 16 schools, faculty of 1,700 and 24,000 full-time students, including 700 international students.

Our Electronic and Communications Engineering double degree programme adopts the “4+0” study mode based at CQUPTin China. This programme is jointly developed by Brunel University London and CQUPT. It aims to bring together the strengths of CQUPT in communications and Brunel in electronics to produce engineers who can take up leadership roles in industry with respect to the delivery of innovative 5G applications.

Since the programme started in 2018, nearly 400 students have been recruited and are currently studying at CQUPT.
