Sample Timetable

Here at the Brunel Language Centre, our aim is to help our students achieve the English Language scores they need to progress onto their chosen LBIC course.

Improving language skills can take time. The length of English Language course that a student requires will be determined by their current English Language level in addition to the entry requirements for their chosen academic course.

To help you decide how many weeks English Language you will need to undertake please use the table here.

Please note that these are for guidance only. For specific advice please feel free to send your most recent English Language qualification to languagecentre@brunel.ac.uk

To apply for a LBIC Pre-sessional course you must have:

  • A current offer for an LBIC course (if you have not yet done so, you can apply here)
  • Met all the academic requirements for LBIC, excluding English Language
  • Taken a recognised English qualification, such as IELTS (students who require a Tier 4 visa must hold an 'Academic IELTS for UKVI' certificate)
  • Checked to see which Pre-sessional course is most suitable for you

Once you have done this you can apply using the tabs in the top right hand corner of this webpage.

Please note: You will only be able to apply for a Tier 4 student visa to undertake a Pre-sessional English course if you take the ‘IELTS for UKVI’ test. Some IELTS centres run both kinds of Academic IELTS so you must make sure you book the UKVI recognised Academic IELTS called ‘IELTS test for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) purposes’.
