Be well prepared for university life by studying on our 4-week University Preparation Course. This programme is for international students who have met their English Language Requirement, but would like to learn more about living in the UK, Academic English and studying for a degree in the UK.
This course focuses on helping you adapt to UK university life and improving your academic English skills. Classes will include modules on:
- University Social Life
- Communicating in a Formal Academic Context
- Living in the UK
- Trips and other Leisure Activities
- Research Skills and Academic Reading and Writing
- Presentation Skills
- Listening and Note-taking
- Seminar Skills
- Grammar and Vocabulary Development
The preparation course is a full-time, on-campus programme and comprises 19 hours classroom study per week, plus a 10-minute tutorial. Classes will be scheduled Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
Subject Specific Classes
An important part of the teaching programme here at Brunel Language Centre is subject specific classes. These bring together students who will be studying similar degree courses and focus on the skills and vocabulary needed for those subject areas. Students can also get the opportunity to visit interesting London venues to explore their discipline outside the classroom. Classes include:
