3.1 Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria at the time of allocation will be considered for a tuition fee award using the information provided at the time of their course application only and cannot be considered should their circumstances change during the course of their studies. Awards cannot be backdated.
3.2 The International Recruitment Team will review course applications on a regular basis throughout the year. The Team will review candidates academic and English (and other attributes) profile. In order to be considered applicants must meet the course entry criteria, meet the course offer and have an overall good application profile.
3.3 Tuition fee awards will be awarded provisionally on a first-come-first-served basis throughout the year, until all the awards have been allocated. Allocation will begin with the £3,000 award and move on to £1,500 awards.
3.4 The International Recruitment Team will be responsible for initiating and managing all communication with the successful applicants.
3.5 Tuition fee awards will be decided by the International Recruitment Team, who will be responsible for producing a final list for eligible awardees.
3.6 The decision of the International Recruitment Team is final. The University will not accept any appeals in respect of the decisions made by the International Recruitment Team.
3.7 Award winners will be expected to pay the course deposit of £5,000 within 4 weeks of being awarded.
3.8 Applicants who do not pay the course deposit of £5,000 within 4 weeks of being awarded will forfeit the award and the award will be removed.
3.9 The University will not accept any appeals in respect of awards that have been withdrawn.
3.10 The award cannot be combined with any other University scholarship, bursary, discount or award, this includes the International Academic Excellence Scholarship, the International Bursary and the Brunel Medical School International Scholarship, but excludes the 2% prompt payment discount, the Brunel Graduate Discount and the Brunel Family Discount. This will be deducted from the tuition fees remaining after the scholarship discount has been applied at enrolment.
3.11 If an applicant is eligible for more than one scholarship or discount, the College Specific Scholarship or International Excellence Scholarship will take precedence.
3.12 If an applicant is eligible for multiple awards, namely the International Excellence Scholarship and either the International Bursary or the International Tuition Fee Award (ITFA), the most financially beneficial award will remain and the International Excellence Scholarship will be awarded.
3.13 Awards are made for the September 2023 and January 2024 entry of the academic year 2023/24 only and cannot be deferred to later months or years of entry. Course applicants who intend to defer their studies from 2023/24 academic year to 2024/25 will lose any award they have been made.
