Journalism at Brunel is focused on creating graduates that are confident and capable of handling the demands of such a competitive field. Many of our past students are now working throughout local, regional, national and international print, broadcast and online media. Our alumni can be found at the BBC World Service, The Independent, news and feature agencies, local papers, international magazines and the trade press. They work as news reporters, feature writers, production journalists and sub-editors.
We understand that preparing for work can’t be done in the classroom alone. We recommend all our students undertake work experience. Brunel’s Professional Development Centre is committed to increasing our students' employability, helping you to find placements and develop the skills and experience you need to stand out in the job market.
We also run a number of extra-curricular actives that help prepare our Journalism students for the world of work. From guest speakers, with a wealth of industry experience to workshops, events and projects you will have the opportunity to gain the skills, experience and exposure needed for an aspiring journalist.
