Graduation Postponement

It is with regret that we are postponing our summer graduation ceremonies this year, in line with government guidance.

We will be actively updating this page whenever further information becomes available. Please see below for a list of frequently asked questions regarding the postponement of Summer 2020 Gradaduation.

Do you know the dates when rescheduled cermonies are likely to be?

Unfortunately, this information is not yet available.

We have had to postpone Summer Graduation this year in line with government guidance. We realise that this will be very disappointing news for many students, and staff, however we will be aiming to hold a Graduation ceremony later in the year and will begin working on those arrangements soon.

After you have received confirmation of your award on eVision, you will be able to request your certificate via the “My Courses” / “View Award” section. Even if you choose to receive your certificate in this way, you will still be eligible to attend your rescheduled graduation ceremony. Once your award is confirmed in eVision, your award details will also be available online on our VerifyAward system.

Should I cancel my gown hire or photography pre-order?

The company who provide Brunel University London with these Graduation services (Ede and Ravenscroft) have offered the following advice:

Students who have hired gowns or pre-ordered photography with Ede and Ravenscroft will be able to transfer their order to the new ceremony date (once it is confirmed).

If you are unable to attend the new ceremony date, you can cancel your gown hire or photography pre-order and receive a refund in accordance with Ede & Ravenscroft's standard Terms and Conditions.

Students will need to either log in to the Ede & Ravenscroft website or phone the Ede & Ravenscroft call centre to be able to do this.

Even if you choose to receive your certificate in this way you will still eligible to attend your graduation.

For doctoral researchers; your thesis must be submitted to the Library before your award can be presented to the Vice-Chancellor for conferral and certificate be available. Your short thesis title will appear on your degree certificate.

Once your award has conferred, an electronic version of your Certificate can be viewed and shared from within the Brunel University London’s VerifyAward service, which may prove valuable while awaiting your certificate via the postal service.
