Academic related support and how it can help you

An opportunity to meet some of the key personnel within the University with whom you will be in contact during your time with Brunel University, starting with a member of the Academic Skills team

The Academic Skills (ASK) service supports Brunel students by helping them to develop the skills they need to learn independently and thrive academically, whatever their level or subject. This will be followed by a chat from a member of the Professional Development Centre (PDC) who can advise on work placements, careers and part time jobs while you study. The PDC has been voted by Brunel students as one of the best career services in the UK and they are here to support your career development and enhance your employability at every step of your journey

Meet your Union rep and learn about our IT platforms

Carrying on with some information on our online teaching platforms, Blackboard Learn and Wiseflow which is the online tool you will be using to upload most of your assignment work

This will be followed by an opportunity to meet your Student Union Rep (VP-CEDPS) Eshna, who will be telling you all about the Student Union, her role and how she can help you during your time at Brunel. This will be followed by a chance for you to grab some lunch and an afternoon to work on your video task, which will be explained in this session

The video assignment instructions will be given during this time. The latest hand in time is 23:59 tonight. We do recommend for this and all assignments that you aim for 17:00.

Compulsory Project and Assignment Day

To ensure we tailor the course to your needs we require you to complete a few very simple questions. The outcome of these will be useful to us on deciding our teaching approach

 

 

 

 

Maths questions followed by a ten minute break for refreshment.   Assignment is in BLL which you will need login to access the link. Go to module ME0006, Assignment page

The English test will be available for students on Wednesday (23th Sept) from 10:55 until Sunday (27th Sept 22:00). Student will be able to do the test during this period. Once the student starts the test, he/she need to finish it in one attempt within 50 minutes. After 50 minutes, the test will automatically finish, the answers that the student made will be saved and submitted automatically

Virtual Treasure Hunt

Learn about Brunel and it's systems with an online task.  This will involve you having to contact a designated member of the academic staff who will give you a unique password which you will then need to add to your answers and report to another member of staff, each task requiring you to use a different virtual communication system.

Prizes -  We cannot give you a physical prize, so we are giving you the opportunity to acquire a voucher. All correct answer sheets will be placed in a lucky dip and the first 30 drawn out by our amazing, special guest will receive Amazon vouchers
