Brunel for Business - Webinar Series: Opportunities and Resilience in Crisis

Adapting Business to the New Norm: An in-conversation with hospitality industry business owners.
Although it may be too soon to make a full assessment of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is clear that the shutdowns and restrictions in place in all major economies will dramatically reduce economic outputs, as well as spending by households and organizations, corporate investments, and international trade. One of the most heavily hit sectors is hospitality. Not only has demand from leisure travel dropped significantly, business travel is also nearly all suspended. It is clear that, to survive this crisis, managers in this industry will need to be creative and flexible. In this session, we will share how a family-owned hotel is engaging multiple stakeholders in a collaborative process of recognising the challenges faced, rationalising the changes needed, and refashioning the recovery strategy. The focus of this session is on the hospitality industry, and small, family-owned businesses.
