Exceptional alumni inspire current crop of students

Brunel students were given the chance to learn from exceptional alumni at a round table networking event this week.

Eighteen former graduates of Brunel University London, including Alan Wing-King of Syntegra (engineering, science and technology), Harpreet Mangat from Amazon (law with LLB), and Kelly Young of Acadian Asset Management (economics and finance), gave up their time to pass on their knowledge and experience, and share career success.

The event, organised by the School of Professional Development, Professional Development Centre, aimed to inspire current students to look at their own career pathways and consider further opportunities to gain placements and work experience.

Event organiser Helen Slingsby said: "Learning from alumni is a great way for students to realise the importance of placements and see that anything is possible with a combination of persistence, determination and talent."
