First-ever Placement Expo at Brunel

The students were on “sandwich courses“: to gain relevant practical experience as part of their degree. The 30 employers represented included Allied Irish Bank; British Airways; DHL; GE Money; IBM; Lonza Biologics; Sheraton; and Xerox.

“A large number of Brunel students live locally and are keen to remain in the area while working,“ explained Brunel's Placement Officer, Reay Elliott.

“It was an opportunity for students who have yet to do their work placements to meet potential employers, and to learn about the types of jobs available, and what employers may expect from them,“ she added.

Employers also ran workshops on cv-writing, making applications and interview techniques. “The day was a great success and benefited both the companies which attended and the students.“
