2nd Uxbridge Scout Group - Assistant Section Leader

Details of the Charity:

2nd Uxbridge (St Margarets) Scout Group is a thriving group providing Scouting in North Uxbridge. It is one of the largest Groups in the County and meets at Gatting Way, in Uxbridge. We are open to all between the ages of 6 and 60!

We are looking for volunteers to help at Scout Groups across the broader area of Uxbridge and District, from Harefield to Harmondsworth, Hillingdon to West Drayton. We provide a free training scheme and a wealth of opportunities to learn through training our young people.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

This role is to support the operation of the Section. In particular, the planning and delivery of the Balanced Programme, with the help of other Section Leaders, Assistant Section Leaders, Section Assistants and Young Leaders. Some of the tasks for which the Assistant Section Leader is responsible may be delegated to others in the Section, including other Section Leaders, Assistant Section Leaders and Section Assistants.

Our section meeting will typically last around 2 hours, but there are also other events that take place outside these. The role will be based in a Scout Headquarters with other events elsewhere. We operate a free training scheme for all our volunteers, leading to the award of what is known as a wood badge, which means you would be fully trained.

Skills Required:

You just need lots of enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, an affinity with your people would be an advantage.
