4th Eastcote Scout Group - Scout Assistant leaders

Details of the Charity:

4th Eastcote (St Lawrence) Scout Group is based at St Lawrence Church in Eastcote, near Ruislip in Middlesex. Our scout group is open to both boys and girls and has around 120 young people aged 6-14 who are supported by about 20 adult leaders. We have two beaver colonies, two cub packs and a scout troop. Everything the group does relies on volunteers. Whether its leading section meetings, running camps, looking after the hall or raising money, our friendly and active volunteer team are always looking for extra help. Each section has weekly meetings along with a few camps throughout the year.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

Each section meets every week during term time for between 1-2 hours in the evenings. Over time, we hope you will be able to gain the skills to prepare and run games, leading to running weekly meetings and maybe even a camp! Additionally, we are looking for support with admin, providing 1-1 support for children with special needs and finance tasks to assist leaders. All the training is provided and everything is paid for, even for attending a camp! We provide uniform and reimburse for any reasonable costs. You do not need to be a scout in the past to apply!

Skills Required:

Ready to get stuck in, learn new skills and help support the next generation of young people!

We are open to paying for travel expenses to support students if this is a barrier. Nearest tube station is Eastcote and around a 5 minute walk.

DBS is required, Contact Brunel's DBS Team.

Additional Benefits:

Free camps and activities, great chance to get outside and teach young people new skills such as fire lighting.
