CB Hounslow Sports Club is a community sports club (FA Charter standard Community Club) which offers a range of sports and recreational activities for people in West Hounslow. The club has an active social part and is open for community group use.
It has over 30 football teams, ranging from both Men’s and Women’s senior sides to a full range of youth football, including a mini kickers programme. It also has an archery club, dance and fitness activities on site, with plans to develop cricket nets, running and cycling groups.
The club is now planning to relocate to Green Lane in Hounslow (TW4 6DH) as part of its development plans to expand the club.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
CB Hounslow UTD are looking for 2 volunteer student therapist or recently qualified therapist (minimum 2nd year of study). We have 8 adult teams and 22 youth teams, the person will predominately be working with 1st team who play at semi pro step 5 & 7 of the national pyramid.
The successful candidate will have access to a mentor who is a senior therapist and owner of Zen Anatomy.
What we are looking for is someone who will attend our training sessions on a Thursday to diagnose/give advice on injuries and rehabilitation. We will provide a room and equipment for the person to carry out the work, the person will have access to every player at the club. They can offer on a Tuesday and Thursday evenings, massage at a nominal fee per head. We would also expect the individual to carry the bag on match day which are generally Saturdays. If the person is fully qualified they will be given the opportunity to provide paid services to everybody else at the club including the 20 youth teams and parents.
This is an excellent opportunity for a new or nearly qualified sports therapists to gain valuable experience, whilst building a catalogue of potential clients
We have recently moved into our brand new 1.4 million ground with a medical room provided.
Currently studying or recently qualified in either:
- Sports Science
- Sports Therapy
- Sports Rehab
- All travel expenses reimbursed
- FREE membership and use of club sports and social facilities Hours volunteered will be recorded on your HEAR – which goes on your permanent university record
- All hours contribute towards your Brunel Volunteers Award, which leads to an invitation to the Brunel Volunteers Awards Ceremony
