Card Aid - Retail Assistant

Details of the Charity:

Card Aid, an initiative of the Charities Advisory Trust, runs pop-up charity Christmas card shops between October and Christmas. The shops were developed to provide an outlet for charities to sell their Christmas cards to a wider public.  We stock Christmas cards from over 100 charities, ensuring that at least one third of the price of every card goes direct to the charity. Charities that we support include, ‘Peace and Reconciliation’, working towards peace and reconciliation in war torn countries and ‘Plan International’ which is advancing children’s rights and equality for young girls, plus many more. The shops this year will be open in two churches, St Mary-le-Bow in Bank and St Mary Abbots in Kensington.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

Volunteers serve customers, label stock, help out with signage and generally help the shop manager where required. Each shop has some information on the charities represented, so it’s also a good way for your students to learn about a wide range of charitable organisations.
