DASH - Administration Assistant



Details of the Charity:

Disablement Association Hillingdon known more commonly as DASH, is a user-led charity based in Hillingdon. DASH challenges people’s perceptions and encourages disabled people of all ages to reach their full potential. We provide advice, support and activities that allow disabled people to take control of their lives and become more independent, confident and part of the community. DASH is an inclusive organisation and promotes independence to every individual.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

Specific tasks may include - Answering general queries on reception, authorising admission to the reception via a buzzer system, answering the telephone and taking messages, opening and recording post, scanning mail, shredding, confirming forthcoming appointments via text message and form filling. Commitment - Wednesday pm/Thursday/Friday (flexible). More than one applicant will be considered to cover the hours required. Due to the nature of the role and training offered we ask for a minimum commitment of 4 months. 

Skills Required:

  • Friendly telephone manner 
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • The ability to multitask 
  • Good organisational skills with a keen eye for details and accuracy
