Details of the Charity:

The DLF’s mission is to provide a holistic wellbeing support service to Children & Young People diagnosed with brain tumours & their families, to ensure their changing wellbeing priorities are addressed from diagnosis and beyond. 

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

  • Set up the venue for the Family Fun Afternoon on the Saturday, 25th September 2021 - time tentatively: 11am to 1pm 
  • Coordinate different activities for the Family Fun Afternoon on the Saturday, 25th September 2021 - time tentatively between 1pm and 5pm 
  • Control the flow of traffic at the Family Fun Afternoon on the Saturday, 25th September 2021 - time tentatively between 1pm and 5pm 
  • Clear up after the Family Fun Afternoon on the Saturday, 25th September 2021 - time tentatively 5pm to 6pm

Skills Required:

  • Hands on personality & works well with authority
  • Able to assimilate new information quickly
  • Amiable and friendly personality
  • Able to strike up a rapport with members of the public
  • Emotionally resilient and tactful
  • Able to talk about a serious illness without alienating people – i.e. focus on the solutions required and tell people how they can help make a difference talk
  • Ideally a person with similar experience
