London Borough of Hillingdon - Natural Craft Material Collector



Details of the Charity:

Every year Hillingdon Council run a Christmas Xetravganza Event for residents living with dementia and their carers. The event includes a Christmas craft, Christmas dinner and afternoon entertainment.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

On the 1st December 2021 a Christmas Xetravganza Event will be run at the West Drayton Community Centre for residents living with demetia and their carers. On the 12th December there will be another Christmas event held at Ruislip Manor Farm.

At both of these events there will be craft activities using natural material collected from Cranford Country Park.

At 10.00 am on the 23rd November a team of volunteers are needed to walk through the ancient woodland in the park collecting holly, ivy, pine needles etc for the use of the crafting groups.

 

Skills Required:

No experience needed. Volunteers will be required to undertake light physical activities (walking, carrying vegetation, packing cars etc).

Experience in forestry, foraging, traditional crafts also desirable.
