NHS Hillingdon CCG - Patient Engagement Volunteer

Details of the Charity:

NHS Hillingdon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is responsible for buying health services in Hillingdon including community health and hospital services.

We’re different to previous organisations because we are made up of local GPs and health professionals who are best placed to know the right services for our area.

As a GP-led organisation, we are in the unique position of being able to take into account the first-hand experience of our patients who use health services when we commission new services.

Hillingdon CCGs vision is for a high performing, good quality and cost effective acute and community based health system for local residents, in an environment that delivers quality care, supports clinicians and is satisfying for all staff and members.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

To support the Communication and Engagement team and help engage with patients at Hillingdon GP practices as part of a review of current dermatology services.

Role would include:

Visiting GP practices in Hillingdon and asking patients to complete a patient survey on dermatology services. Some patients may require help to complete the survey.

We are looking for somebody to start immediately as the review will close end of October 2019. We can be flexible with days of work, but do require you to be able to commit to volunteering in this role Minimum 6 hours a week for 4 weeks.

There are 45 GP practices in Hillingdon. We would expect the volunteer to visit 3 GP practices each week. Each visit to last for 2 hours.

Skills Required:

We are seeking volunteers who are confident, friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic.

  • To be outgoing and comfortable talking to members of the public
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English
  • To be able to communicate effectively with strong listening skills and ability to feedback accurately.
  • To commit time and effort to the volunteering role.
