Pimlico Toy Library - Summer Activity Programme Helper



Details of the Charity:

The Pimlico Toy Library is a registered charity founded in 1983 by Westminster Adult Education. It supported parents who wanted a place for their children to play in a safe, stimulating child-friendly atmosphere.

The charity offer play opportunities for parent or carers and children 0-5 for 49 weeks each year, school holiday activities for 0-11-year-olds, and 1,500 toys, washed, checked and ready for a home loan.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

Volunteers are required to support play sessions on the following dates:

August - 9th, 10th, 11th, 16th, 17th, 18th, 23rd, 24th, 25th 

 Tasks involved:

  • Collect and take equipment from base to project venue
  • Set-up activities ranging from soft-play to art
  • Welcome and count families into the venue
  • Keep families safe and in the right area at the right time
  • Help children engage in activities which include Art, Soft-play, Falconry
  • Clean and clear up in between sessions 
  • Clean equipment and return it from the project venue to our main site

Skills Required:

  • Reliable and punctual
  • Likes children
  • Being able to listen and follow instructions
  • Communicate effectively with a diverse mix of ages and backgrounds
  • Confident and able to have a calm, but firm attitude to ensure safety
  • Able to work in a busy environment
  • Physically fit as you will need to be able to lift, stand for the sessions, carry equipment
