Details of the Charity:Share this
Who are we? Our members are enthusiastic men and women who want to make a difference, and we come from a wide range of backgrounds and age groups. We are affiliated to the National and International Rotary Club organisations.
We aim: To be a force for good in and around the London Borough of Hillingdon where we seek to engage with our community.
Work with others, to maximise our positive impact, always upholding high ethical standards.
Support each other, respecting differences and adapting to the modern world.
Play our part locally, nationally and internationally.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
One of our bigger fundraisers, this year supporting Michael Sobell House and london’s Air Ambulance as our lead charities.
We are looking for helpers between 9am – 5pm to collect donations form the amazingly generous shoppers at Waitrose in Ruislip. You will be in the entranceway, outdoors (protected from rain).
This is a traditional cash donation, possibly supplemented by text giving/QR code for online giving (for those without cash).
You may collect individually or with a friend.
We recommend volunteering in 1 or 2 hour blocks; it can get tiring and you will not be able to leave the collection bucket unattended (eg for a toilet break).
Volunteers will be provided with contact details of the organiser. It is important that you let us know in advance if you should need to cancel your shift.
- Enthusiastic and willing to help
- Punctual and reliable.
Usually collecters stand; please get in touch if you feel you would need to sit and we will find how this can be accommodated.
You are advised to dress for winter weather conditions and may wish to wear a festive hat. A high vis vest will be provided.
- Volunteering hours go towards the Brunel Volunteer Award
