Time & Talents - Befriender
Details of the Charity:Share this
129 years young this year, Time & Talents is a thriving hub of community activity and innovation in a unique part of South London. We provide support for some of the most vulnerable people in our community, alongside an imaginative programme of wider activities and events for all, designed to bring everyone together.
Our services and activities include groups for frail and socially isolated older people - we specialise in unusual and quirky activities, such as a visit from a mobile zoo - a thriving community gardening and growing programme, with specialised growing sessions for older and disabled people, support for people with mental health issues, and a range of imaginative community celebration events which draw up to 300 people on a regular basis. Meanwhile, our volunteer befriending service provides support in people's homes or via telephone to support older people who might otherwise never see anyone for a day at a time. Most recently, our services have been expanded to include a new “get active” based befriending scheme which connects adults, of all ages, who may be lonely and keen to start exercising with a local volunteer befriender.
We do a huge amount, but we still want to do more – and that’s where you come in! Can you help us? Would you like to be part of the T&T family?
