Thames21 - Community Events Volunteer

Details of the Charity:

Thames21 connects people with waterways by putting healthy rivers back at the heart of everyday life. We improve and restore rivers, educate and empower the community and campaign for positive change for the good of people and the environment.

We improve rivers by monitoring water quality, restoring habitats and championing catchment partnerships. We educate through outdoor learning sessions and help schools become more sustainable. We also empower people through river stewardship, collecting data on river pollution, events, training and campaigns.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

This opportunity is based on the River Pinn, it involves various practical conservation tasks and activities at community events. There are many different activities, including planting, river clean-ups and vegetation management. The dates vary month to month but the events usually occur twice monthly between 10:30 am-1:30 pm. Volunteer opportunities will be posted on the Thames21 website a few weeks prior to the event and will be sent out to the mailing list.
