Chiswick House and Gardens Trust is a registered charity, created jointly by English Heritage and the London Borough of Hounslow. The organisation is an example of 18th-century British architecture in West London and aims to conserve its historic, horticultural, and natural heritage, while sustaining and improving biodiversity, and supporting the local community’s health and well-being. 

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will work alongside Chiswick House and Gardens team, providing high-quality garden maintenance and improvements to the kitchen garden. As a Kitchen Garden Volunteer, you will acquire leadership, organisational, communication, and customer service skills. 

Typical duties include:

  • Assisting with all aspects of maintaining the vegetable growing and surrounding areas within the kitchen garden
  • Helping with the planting, cultivation, and harvesting of all produce grown
  •  Ensuring members and visitors can enjoy the garden experience
  • Working as part of a team and helping create a friendly, sociable, and non-judgmental atmosphere

Please note, the organisation would like you to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
