Details of the Charity:

We're the UK's leading HIV and sexual health charity. We support people living with HIV and amplify their voices, and help the people using our services to achieve good sexual health.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers with an interest in events fundraising to join our cheer squad to help motivate and inspire our wonderful challengers to cross the finish line smiling!

There is no experience necessary, just a smile and a loud cheering voice to make our challengers’ big days extra special.

This is a fun role with an opportunity for individuals to gain an insight into challenge events fundraising.

There will be opportunities to join us at our third-party event programme, which includes:

  • TCS London Marathon – London, October 2022/April 2023
  • Royal Parks Half – London, October 2022
  • Red Run – London, November 2022
  • Brighton Half Marathon – Brighton, February 2023
  • Brighton Marathon – Brighton, April 2023

We will provide everything you need for cheering on day.

The Type of Tasks / Activities you could be involved with:

  • Whoop, shout, clap and dance as our amazing challengers speed past our cheering stations at challenge events.

Desired Commitment:

Ad/hoc. Each event you attend will require a few hours volunteering over 1 day

Must be 18 years or over!

Skills Required:

  • Punctuality, reliability and personable.
  • Enthusiastic, friendly and a loud cheering voice!
  • A basic understanding of the issues relating to HIV and AIDS, or willingness to learn
  • A commitment to working as part of a team, and ability to work on own initiative
  • An interest in challenge events fundraising
  • Commitment to representing Terrence Higgins Trust in a positive and constructive way!
