The Disablement Association Hillingdon (DASH) is a charity providing advice, support, and activities that allow disabled people who are a resident of Hillingdon to take control of their lives and become more independent, confident, and part of the community. The organisation offers advice and support for people with a disability and a range of sporting and recreational activities all focused on encouraging people to socialize with one another.
Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
In this role, you will be working alongside a DASH employee to assist, support and advocate clients who have a managed account with DASH. As a Case Work Volunteer, you will learn a set of skills such as advocacy, documentation and record keeping, case planning and management, assessment, and analytical skills.
Typical duties include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of your own list of clients and assisting with renewals of their managed account services
- Keeping the clients' database updated and assisting with renewals of their managed account services
- Liaising with other agencies on behalf of the clients Connecting them with various community resources and services
- Arranging employee wage payments, calculating and recording annual leave, making any changes to contracts of employment
Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months.
