Bishopshalt School - Language Assistant

Details of the Charity:

Bishopshalt School is a secondary school with specialisations in music and performing arts. The school aim to foster confident speakers of modern languages and to support students gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation of the culture where these languages are spoken by promoting interactions with native speakers. Currently offer French and Spanish at the A-level.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will help students to improve their proficiency in a specific language in a supportive and encouraging environment. As Language Assistant, you will gain a set of skills such as tutoring, communication, and public speaking.

Typical duties include:

  • Assisting language teachers with the plan and preparation of lessons
  • Engaging in conversation with the students
  • Helping students to get better at pronunciation and accent
  • Supporting students with language exercises such as writing, and reading comprehension


Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months.
