Independent and Work Ready CIC - Creative Project Assistant

Details of the Charity:

Independent and Work Ready (IWR) is a community interest company (CIC) helping those with learning difficulties or disabilities (SEND) with work and self-employment skills. The organisation offers virtual work placements where individuals can build a creative retail social hub, use digital, art, or photography skills, take part in social activities, and design and sell products such as hoodies, bags, hats, kitchenware, stationery, and so on, building real-life work skills.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

In this role, you will be creating engaging and meaningful resources that empower and support the IWR employment work experience. As a Creative Project Assistant Volunteer, you will learn a set of skills such as organisational, time management, communication, attention to detail, problem-solving, and adaptability.

Typical duties include:

  • Assisting in creating content such as graphics, presentations, videos, written materials, and other creative assets as needed
  • Developing simple and fun art projects which may include videos or step-by-step PowerPoints
  • Collaborating with the team to create visually appealing designs for hoodies, bags, hats, and stationery items that participants can use or wear.
  • Working closely with other team members to brainstorm ideas and gather feedback

Please note, the Brunel Volunteers team would like you to commit to a minimum of 2-3 months.
