Summary

Balbir Kaur is a Lecturer in primary teacher education (mathematics) in the Department of Education. Before joining Brunel University, Balbir worked as a qualified teacher for over ten years in several multicultural primary schools in the Midlands, was a lead mathematics teacher and worked closely with Local Authorities supporting schools. Balbir then went on to work as a Senior Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education (ITE) at the University of Wolverhampton. During her 13 years in that post, Balbir undertook various teaching and leadership roles across undergraduate, postgraduate ITE programmes to include programme lead for Primary School Direct Salaried and Assessment Only routes into ITE. Balbir was seconded for two years to work with local Teaching Schools to develop partnerships in teacher education, research and professional development.
