Summary

Corrado Macchiarelli is currently seconded as a Principal Economist at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR), Macroeconomic Modelling and Forecasting team. At Brunel University London, he is a Senior Lecturer in the Economics and Finance Dept, where he lectured on Advanced Macroeconomic Theory, Money and Banking, and Housing Finance. He completed a PhD in Economics at the University of Turin-Collegio Carlo Alberto and holds a post-doc from the London School of Economics. Corrado is also a Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics' European Institute and an Adjunct Lecturer in Economics on the “International Political Economy and Global Business” degree (BSc.) at New York University (NYU) Stern School of Business (London). During the spring/summer 2019, he was on sabbatical leave as a Visiting Scholar in Economics at Harvard University Minda de Gunzburg Centre for European Studies.

For the past five years (2015-20), Corrado has held an external advisory role as a Monetary Policy Expert for the European Parliament. Previously, Corrado worked as an economist for the Euro Area Macro Division (Directorate General-Economics) of the European Central Bank (ECB), and he was a consultant to the same Division, over the period 2011-2014. He was a PhD Trainee at the ECB's European Countries Division (DG-E) and at the International Monetary Fund, respectively, in 2010 and 2009. He visited the Swedish Riksbank as a consultant to the Monetary Policy Division during the summer of 2015.
