Dr Farhad Uddin Ahmed

Summary

Farhad obtained his PhD from the University of Dublin, Trinity College Ireland in 2016 with a specialization in International Business. His research interests lie at the intersection of Strategy, Entrepreneurship and International Business. Particularly, his research focuses on the interplay between institutional and entrepreneurial factors, and firms' early internationalization from emerging markets. Prior to his current affiliation at Brunel Business School, Farhad worked as a Lecturer in Management at Monash University, and completed Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from Dublin City University, and Swansea University respectively. He was invited to present papers at several internationally recognized Conferences and Colloquiums in the UK, US, Canada, Thailand, Germany, Italy, Sweden and other locations. One of his research papers has been nominated for the Best Paper Award in the Academy of Management Conference 2021 within Gender and Entrepreneurship track. In addition to conference proceedings, Farhad has published widely in several prestigious journals across disciplinary areas such as Asia Pacific Journal of Management, International Marketing Review, Critical Perspectives on International Business, Journal of International Entrepreneurship, and Asia-Pacific Journal of Business Administration. He is the recipient of Emerald Literati Awards 2020 for his research published in Asia-Pacific Journal of Business Administration. Farhad has been an active member of a number of scholars’ forums, including Academy of Management, European International Business Academy and the International Entrepreneurship Scholars’ network throughout his academic career. Moreover, he was invited to deliver guest lectures at the University of Dundee and LUT University Finland, and has a track-record of reviewing papers for the International Small Business Journal, Journal of Business Research, Thunderbird International Business Review and Management Decision journals. Farhad is the Fellow of Commercial Education Society of Australia.

Responsibility

Dr. Farhad is the module leader of International Business in Emerging Markets and International Relations modules at undergraduate level. In addition to teaching role, he is supervising undergraduate (FYP), postgraduate and PhD projects. He also serves as International Exchange Coordinator at Brunel Business School.
