Dr. Farouk Missi (BEng (Hons), MSc, PhD) is a Part Time Lecturer at Brunel Business School, Brunel University London, and a senior consultant in Management Information Systems and IT applications at Active Business Solutions (UK). He is a visiting lecturer to a number of universities and academic institutions in the UK and overseas. Farouk Missi obtained his PhD in Management Information Systems from Brunel University, London. Before that, he studied for the M.Sc. in Information Engineering (Medical Informatics and Biomedical Engineering - specialisation) at City University, London.
Moving to the world of Business & Management, in the past twenty years, Farouk Missi has developed a particular interest in the areas of Information Systems implementation and Strategy, Customer Relationship Management, Enterprise & IT Applications, Healthcare & Medical Informatics. He is a frequent speaker at industry and academic conferences, company seminars and educational programmes in the UK and around the world. He is a reviewer and on the editorial board of a number of international journals. He has a special interest in using managerial decision-making to help top management implement Information Systems and IT Applications.
In the past few years, I have been involved with a large scale integrating European projects, which look at the theoretical concepts, areas of empirical research and observable trends in the field of Social Innovation on both European and global aspects.
Before that, I worked in large government projects, where my focus was to advance knowledge of non-dominant firm populations (SMEs in particular), in developing countries’ enterprises and newly emerging multinationals (including North African Transnational Corporations).
