Summary

Al completed his BEng in Electronic and Communications Engineering from the University of Leeds in 2019 where he worked on the simulation of communication technologies in smart grids as part of his final year engineering project. He then went on to work at Bombardier's Derby site testing rolling stock voltage cables and control panels.

Al commenced his PhD studies at Cranfield University in late 2020 by investigating state-of-the-art modelling and simulation approaches to cyber-physical power systems (CPPS). Having transferred to Brunel in late 2021 with his supervisor Dr Xin Zhang, he is now investigating the linkage of real-time power system simulation to communication models to achieve satisfactory co-simulation of realistic power systems.
