Leila Ghanbar is a PhD student at Brunel University London working on Computational and Systems Biology. Her main work is modelling and analysing biological systems in Petri nets. The main focus of her study is human microbiota and its impact on human health and disease. In particular she is working with gut microbiota and dental microbiota.
Her study centres on quorum sensing and biofilm formation as a result of bacterial communication while working with both homogeneous and heterogeneous bacterial societies and the prediction of their behaviour in response to environmental changes.
