Summary

I am a Postgraduate Researcher and an Education Doctoral candidate in the College of Business and Social Sciences, commencing in January 2021.

I hold qualifications as a Social Worker, Registered Manager, Therapeutic Counsellor, and Practice Educator/Assessor supporting social work students who work with children and families and adults.

I completed a MA in Education and Training, where I undertook a research study which explored the assessment process of those wishing to be approved as foster carers.

My current research is an inquiry into the motivators for newly qualified social workers entering the profession to determine if their views and perceptions change at the end of their first year in practice (ASYE). An overarching objective is to explore whether social work education and employers can improve workforce stability.

My principal supervisor is Dr Michael Thomas and Gail Waite.
