Research Interests

Dr Gerwe’s research interests lie in understanding the new growing phenomenon of the sharing economy and collaborative consumption. Specifically, her research focuses on the nature of the sharing economy and peer-to-peer collaboration, its conceptual boundaries, antecedents, the incumbent challenger dynamics and the effects of radical innovation of the sharing economy firms on the established incumbents as well as value creation and value capture opportunities for various stakeholders in the context of the peer-to-peer business models.
