Summary

I am a PhD student in Social Anthropology, working with Liana Chua and Erik Meijaard on the causes and contexts of human-orangutan conflict and orangutan killing in Indonesian Borneo. Our anthropology-conservation collaboration (funded by the Arcus Foundation and Brunel University) aims to use ethnographic fieldwork in orangutan killing "hotspots" to understand how people live alongside orangutans and to deploy this knowledge to formulate locally appropriate conservation strategies.

Qualifications:

  • MRes Social Anthropology (Brunel University London)
  • MA Environment, Development and Policy (University of Sussex)
  • BSc Forestry (Wageningen University)
  • BA Philosophy (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam)
